Real Talk, Simple Faith

***TOP 5% GLOBALLY RANKED PODCAST FOR CHRISTIAN WOMEN*** Do you ever find yourself zoning out while reading the Bible, or think it’s just too complex too many rules? Have you felt judged by those who appear to have it all figured out? Do you believe you have to be perfect before going to God? Do you long for a community where you’re accepted and feel a sense of belonging? Are you looking for a way to rest and take a break? Hi! I’m Yahaira, mom, wife, veteran, and Jesus follower. I am so excited to welcome you to my podcast, Real Talk, Simple Faith. I’ve been there, feeling overwhelmed, especially by the thought of I must be Ms. Perfect before I step a foot in a Church. Perfect walk, perfect clothe, perfect hair, smiling. Honestly, there was a time in my life when I felt so intimidated by those people that I began to resent God. I found myself thinking, ’I don’t want anything to do with that God.’ When I read Mark 7:6-7 something triggered in me. I learned that God is a compassionate and merciful God, that all He is looking for is your heart, a true change of heart, He is looking to give us all a break, to rest in Him. That doesn’t happen overnight, it is a work in progress that takes all our life. I decided to challenge and rethink some of those traditional beliefs. I decided to go back to the basics of the Bible and talk about how simple and beautiful is to love God through Jesus. In this podcast I share basic practical tools that helped me move past religious judgments to loving and trusting the God of the Bible. I take things slowly, share tools that help me, and really focus on understanding God’s character over just rules and laws. I will not try to convince you about my interpretation or beliefs, that is my promise to you. I will speak my mind and granted you will disagree with me sometimes, but that is ok we are still friends. Let’s face it, there’s so much we don’t know about God and the divine realm that to be honest, we would be losing the whole purpose of the Bible, which is create a relationship with God, a personal relationship. Are you ready to get to know and trust the God of the Bible with me in a different way, Are you ready finally join a conversation that really speaks to you, without judgment, no rush, and on your own time, then this podcast is for you. Get your coffee or wine, depending on the time of day you are listening to me, and join me on this journey through the Bible, we are going to get to know Yahweh. I’ll see you next Tuesday! In the meantime, Sip Slow, Pray Deep, Love Always!

Hi!
Why talk about The Shack?
I came across a post in a Christian Facebook group where someone shared how the movie brought her closer to God. Despite the backlash for its perceived lack of biblical accuracy, the story resonated with her deeply. It reminded me that finding God isn't confined to the Bible's pages or a church; God is everywhere.
The story of The Shack started as a book by William Paul Young and later became a movie that has touched many hearts. The author struggled to publish it because it was deemed "not Christian enough" by Christian publishers and "too much Jesus" by secular ones. This middle ground is what makes it so relatable. If you've watched the movie or feel compelled to watch it after this episode, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Send me an email or leave a review.
The movie portrays God as a being of love, safety, and compassion, reaching out to the main character, Mack, in a way that resonates with his past. This depiction isn't necessarily biblical, but it beautifully illustrates how God meets us where we are. One powerful scene around 53 minutes in shows Mac questioning God, and God's response is profound: "When all you see is your pain, you lose sight of me."
The movie also features Lady Wisdom, providing an intriguing perspective on judgment from God's viewpoint. While not necessarily biblically accurate, it offers food for thought on the complexities of divine judgment.
The core message of The Shack is that our souls have hidden places where we keep our true thoughts and feelings. The movie encourages us to break down these walls and be honest with God, who loves us as we are. While The Shack isn't a Bible substitute, it reminds us that God can be found everywhere, and the Holy Spirit helps us discern His presence.
If you watched the movie or read the book, did you see God in it? Or do you feel differently? I'd love to hear your thoughts. And if you haven't subscribed to my newsletter yet, do so now to get access to my mini-course on prayer and my free Bible study guide.

I talk about the true purpose of the Bible and how to build a genuine relationship with God without getting lost in all that noise. I share my personal journey on how to integrate God into my daily life, even as a busy aviator in the United States Air Force.
I talk about the importance of focusing on God rather than getting caught up in theological debates. I give you some practical steps to simplify your prayer life and create routines that bring you closer to God all with the goal of understanding that prayer doesn't need to be perfect or fancy.
If you're looking for clarity and a step-by-step guide to work on your relationship with God, I've got something special for you. I'm building a free webinar to help you start your prayer journey and build that connection with God. Subscribe to my weekly newsletter to be the first to know when it's ready.

Hey friends!
Are you finding it tricky to live out your faith in your job or business or daily life? If you've ever felt a bit awkward or out of place trying to bring God into your workday, then today's episode is just for you.
I'm going to share seven practical steps that won't just help you bring God into your workplace, but will also fill your daily life with His presence. Join me, as I tackle the common misconception that our work needs to be something related to the church or missions for our faith to hold value.
I'll walk you through how to confidently express your Christian identity without feeling like you stick out. We'll look at how biblical heroes like Daniel and Joseph succeeded in non-Godly environments and how you can do the same.
We are going to talk about the power of prayer, striving for excellence in our roles, and the strength found in teamwork and shared success. By the end of this episode, you’ll be equipped to demonstrate God’s love and favor, no matter your profession or location.

Hey friends!
Today we are talking about a topic that's close to my heart and perhaps yours too: is it really necessary to be part of a physical church for cultivating a relationship with God?
Have you ever felt out of place within the walls of a church or wondered if God's presence is limited to a building? If so, join me as I explore faith beyond the traditional church setting, and what the Bible really says about where and how we can connect with God.
I'll discuss the shift from Old Testament practices to the freedom and direct access to God that Jesus' sacrifice has granted us. I'll share my personal journey of God reaching out to me in unexpected places and challenge the believe that a physical church is the only avenue to spiritual growth.
Together, we'll uncover the true meaning of the church as the body of believers and how we can live out our faith in our everyday lives.

Hi!
Ever been side-eyed for enjoying life's little pleasures? If you've ever heard the whispers of "that's not what true Christians do," then this episode is you.
Today, I talk about five tools that have helped enjoy the freedom Christ offers, to receive every gift from God without judgment. Whether it's a glass of wine on the porch or a coffee in the morning, let's learn to live without fear of the "what will they think" mentality.
In this episode, we'll see the freedom in Christ through the lens of Romans 14, where Paul addresses the diverse practices of faith in the early church. We'll explore how to celebrate our differences without causing division, and how to love and accept one another, just as Christ has accepted us.
